Jo graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA (Hons) degree in Music in 1996. Her early career was spent working for one of London's top ten advertising agencies, during which time she met and married her husband, Dave.

In 2000, family commitments saw the couple move to Wakefield and shortly afterwards their first child, Jake, was born. This time in Jo's life marked the return to her musical roots; she joined the Rodillion Singers and began teaching piano and clarinet from home.

In 2007, after her third child was born, Jo decided to combine her experience in music, marketing and motherhood to create 'Mini Maestros'. Jo says,
"I wanted to give all children the chance to experience music, so I spent a lot of time finding about parent's/carer's needs and tried to fill a gap, rather than compete with any existing toddler groups or classes".

Karen has had a love of music from an early age, being heavily involved with choirs, orchestras and musicals at both school and church in her hometown of Bromsgrove in the Midlands. Whilst at university, studying for a nursing degree, music was put on the back burner. Meeting her Yorkshire born husband at university, Karen followed him back up to Yorkshire, settling in Wakefield. Following the birth of their first child, Karen met Jo in 2002 and a strong friendship developed and remained with the birth of their next two children.

When Jessica was born in 2007, Karen enrolled in Mini Maestros, thoroughly enjoying getting back into music and seeing the fun Jessica had. Karen then began to help Jo out with the administration side of the business in 2009 and then jumped at the chance to start a new class in Horbury Bridge.

Karen is very sad to no longer be able to run regular classes but remains involved with Mini Maestros through children’s parties and workshops as often as her new exciting role allows.
Karen says, "Seeing the enjoyment children get out of playing different instruments and dancing along to music is great and I am really excited to be part of the Mini Maestros team."
