Am I able to leave my child for the session?

No, Mini Maestros is designed for both parent and child to work together to develop and get the utmost out of each session.

What age can my child move up to the next class?

All age ranges are given as a guide as each child is different – please ask your class leader if you feel your child is ready for the next step.

How long does it take for a child to settle in?

Mini Maestros offers a free session to all new starters but please be aware that in a bigger class with a slightly timid child the settling in period can take up to 3 or 4 weeks.

Is my baby/child too young for the sessions?

Our classes start from 3 months approx – all of our activities are designed to help develop coordination, motor skills, a sense of pulse and an interest in music.  It is important to understand that very young children are like sponges and although to you they may seem a little young, they are picking up much more than you think. Our most developed children are those that have attended since 3 months or those that have attended classes with their older siblings since birth.

Do you run term time only?

Most of our classes do tend to run term time only but always see website for details as some holiday classes may run.

What does a class consist of?

Each session is based around a theme which is communicated through the use of simple percussion instruments, visual aids, action songs and much much more but the emphasis is always on fun and a rewarding experience for parent/carer and child.

What will my child learn?

The babies/children are exposed to a range of simple percussion instruments and techniques from being able to play fast, slow, loud, quiet – understanding body parts, the concept of direction etc. Children are not able to repeat a rhythm back to you until they are in KS1 but a sense of pulse is important and taught through a variety of ways in each lesson

What is the cost per session?

The cost after your initial free session is £4.50 per week payable termly.

I have a 2 year old and a baby - do I have to pay for both children attending the same class?

If a younger sibling comes along to an older class you only pay for that child once they are old enough to take part.  If you have two siblings of a similar age or you are attending more than one class relevant to their age then we offer a generous discount, please contact us for details.

All our class leaders have up to date CRB checks in place.
